蝸牛與黃鸝鳥 The Snail and the Oriole birds

This song is about patience.

The scenery is set in front of a house, where a grapevine will be bearing fruit. A snail has set its eye on eating grapes and has started to climb the stalk.

As he carries his heavy shell and slowly climbs the tree step by step.

Two birds are perched on the tree and making fun of the snail:

“What’s the point of going up now? The grapes aren’t even ripe yet.”

To which the snail responds, that by the time he gets up there, the grapes will be ripe and ready for him to eat.

The moral of the story is to always be prepared.

And also, similar to the tortoise and the hare: Slow and steady will win the race.
