We are not alone

It has brought me so much happiness over the past few years, to have found a community of moms alike on the internet. 

I live in Belgium, a country where the languages are Dutch and French mostly (read not Mandarin).  

After passing the first few hurdles of motherhood, of trying to speak to a little stranger you just birthed then starting to establish a communication pattern (mostly on your part), I started to wonder whether there were more people in the same situation. 

There must be more and more Overseas Chinese (華人 HuáRén) right? Other parents, like me, that feel a strong connection to their Chinese culture but do not live in an immersive environment?  

At first, I was hoping to find a small local network of parents that share similar interests. Unfortunately those are few and far between over here.. So I turned to the internet! And boy am I glad I did.
